One of the key reason athletes don’t run faster is because their biomechanics are not efficient. Most think it’s all physical when it’s actually more of a neuromuscular problem - Your brain need to be trained to “fire” faster. A good way to do that is by using the treadmill with no grade and do short intervals at a “mechanically challenged “ pace (at least 1 min./km or mile faster then your 10k pace) .
